BCON 2023 RECAP 🔗
The Blender Conference 2023 took place during October in Amsterdam and we were proud to participate. Among lectures and presentations, the BlenderKit team organized a community gathering. For those who were unable to attend, here's a recap of our BCON events.
A New approach to Retopology 🔗
Vilém Duha
Not only Artists but also add-on developers somehow forgot about one important aspect of retopology. Let's analyze what we do and try to think about it a bit differently.
From Hobbyist to AAA: A Deep Dive into Tools and Techniques in Game Art 🔗
Amanpreet Bajwa
Our aim is to explore how Blender, once a hobbyist's tool, has evolved to become an industry standard in the creation of AAA game art. We will take a look at standard pipelines and traditional workflows of game art development and how those are achieved with Blender.
Test, Build, Release: Streamlining Add-On Development with Automation 🔗
Andreas Gajdosik
In this presentation, our primary emphasis will be on enhancing quality assurance and optimizing the automation of the Blender add-on release cycle, encompassing testing, building, and the release process in its entirety.
Our mission is to bolster the reliability of the add-on, eliminate potential manual errors, and free up time for more focused development. We will use a representative GitHub repository equipped with a sample Blender add-on to demonstrate the process of setting up automatic builds and tests (running on Blender in headless docker containers) for initiating pull requests and merging into the main branch.
BlenderKit Community Meetup 🔗
In the meetup, we mainly discussed the development of BlenderKit. Most importantly, we had a chance to meet many of our beautiful community members in person. We thank all the creators, 3D artists and add-on developers for coming. We can’t wait to meet again.
