Release notes 3.8.0
We’re excited to introduce to you the latest update BlenderKit 3.8.0. With an array of enhancements and bug fixes, this release has been fine-tuned to ensure a seamless, intuitive, and robust user experience.
Firstly, you’ll find that private uploads have been simplified. You are no longer required to fill in categories for your assets - just the asset itself, the name, and thumbnail will suffice. This makes for a smoother, faster, and more user-friendly private upload process.
Next, we’ve enhanced the search function. Your search filters now persist even when you switch between different asset types, providing you with uninterrupted, streamlined navigation. Moreover, your search results and search strings will stay put on the asset type search when toggling to different asset types, so you’ll always see the results relevant to your current context.
We’ve also introduced a customizable search field width in preferences, allowing you to adjust it to your preferred size. Plus, the search is now case-sensitive, improving the accuracy of results especially when looking for specific assets such as titles, names, and brands.
We’ve fixed the HDR upload and have also improved the handling of timed out API tokens for a more robust operation. You’ll experience fewer logouts, and if token refresh fails, you’ll be shown a more informative message on what to do next.
Finally, we’ve addressed several fatal errors that were present with Blender 4.0.0-alpha. The add-on now runs smoothly on Blender 4.0.0-alpha, meaning you’ll get the best of BlenderKit even when exploring and experimenting with the newest frontiers of Blender.
This update has been designed to augment your BlenderKit experience, making it more powerful, efficient, and enjoyable.
