This CGI model deliberately depicts a muzzleloader without the usual decorations. In fact, most surviving historical muzzleloaders known to us are often richly decorated with carvings and brass inlays. This is less due to the lack of simpler models, but rather to a selection effect: The elaborately designed and thus valuable examples were passed down through generations and carefully preserved. The simpler, undecorated muzzleloaders, on the other hand, which may have existed in larger numbers, were more likely to be discarded after use or wear and tear and have therefore rarely survived. My goal was to create precisely such a less representative, yet historically plausible model – a functional muzzleloader "without the frills." I wanted to capture the original, utilitarian aesthetic of these weapons, which was probably far more common in everyday life at the time than the surviving showpieces would suggest. The model was created in Blender 4.4.3 and comes with a display stand. I hope you enjoy the Blender model and that your scenes are a success.
