Round shield of the so-called Rosenblatt set - armor set of Emperor Maximilian I (1527 - 1576). The shield was made by the armourer Franz Großschedel (1520 - 1579) in Landshut. the shield is made of iron, forged, beaten, partly etched. Etched decoration: partly fire-gilt, partly blackened, fringes: gold tinsel border. the round shield is 15.5 cm deep, 60 cm in diameter and weighs 6 kg. The round shield is now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer, where it bears the inventory number A 474f. it is not currently on display.
