This setup focus on easily generating a "Spot the Difference" puzzle grid with adjustable parameters and animations in mind. At the moment, 3 types of grids are available: Regular N-Gons, Voronoi and Dual Mesh. You can procedurally adjust many parameters, like face spacing, number of different faces, gradient type, color variation type, cyclic animations and much more. You can use an empty object as pivot point for the Scaling Gradient (pinning the Modifier window is recommended for better experience while moving the pivot point) or directly enter the X and Y coordenates. The Voronoi Grid generator comes with an adjustable batch size, so you can tweak the performance vs precision depending on your needs, whilst the Dual Mesh grid is a visual approximation for the Voronoi pattern, but much faster. Blender v5.0+ is recommended.
Most of the input parameters have guiding descriptions, but if you have any questions about its usability or suggestions please feel free to contact me or leave a comment.
v1.3 Changelog:
- Changed the way Spacing Uniformity works. Now a factor of 0 means it scales proportional to the n-gon face area, and 1 takes the largest face area as reference for all other n-gons (absolute downscale).
- The Reveal Different Faces now includes a mixer in case you need a smooth transition.
- Fixed the maximum Number of Different Faces.
- Added the Pulse Width Offset for all gradient types to offset the scaling curve in a phase when using Cyclic Animation.
- Added the Index Gradient scaling type. It uses the indexes of the n-gons as pivot point (it uses a cyclic progression by default).
