Stylized character inspired by a stegosaurus baby. Stegosaurus was a large herbivorous dinosaur from the Late Jurassic (about 150 million years ago) in North America. Its name comes from the distinctive flat plates on its back and tail, which may have served for thermoregulation or display. It grew up to 9 m long and weighed around 4–7 tons, with some estimates even higher. It had a brain the size of a mandarin, short front legs, and hind legs about twice as long. Its tail ended with four long spikes, used as an effective defense against predators, as shown by injuries found on Allosaurus bones. Stegosaurs were slow (walking speed about 6–7 km/h). The most famous and best-preserved skeleton, nicknamed “Sophie,” is on display at the Natural History Museum in London.
