The AVS-36 (Avtomaticheskaya Vintovka Simonova) was one of the first Soviet automatic rifles, developed by Sergei Simonov in the 1930s. Chambered in the powerful 7.62×54mmR cartridge, this selective-fire rifle was designed for both semi-automatic and fully automatic operation, providing Soviet soldiers with superior firepower. Featuring a detachable magazine, a unique tilting bolt mechanism, and a bayonet mount, the AVS-36 saw limited service before being replaced by the SVT-40. Its innovative design and historical significance make it a prized collectible among firearms enthusiasts.
