A historically informed 3D model of a late 15th-century writing desk, inspired by original medieval manuscript illustrations. Based of a historical miniature attributed to Jean Méliot, a 15th-century scribe and author (source: Bibliothèque nationale de France, MS Francais 9198, 1r). Special attention was given to the research, the furniture's proportions, the scrolls and its depicted contents, and the gothic detailing on the table. Modeled with clean quad topology using a subdivision-freindly workflow. Both the scroll and the book showcase original late medieval texts (scroll reference: [Ms. Codex 1066: Genealogical Chronicle of the Kings of England to Edward IV, circa 1461] Book reference: [Gratianus, de Clusio: Decretum Gratiani [u.a.] - BSB Clm 28161] Textures and materials: Wood [Poliigon], Ceramics [Michal Stetina], Metal [Alexandr Droid] Many thanks to the talented BlenderKit texture artists and the Poliigon team for their contributions! Perfect for use in museum visualizations, learning apps, VR experioences, or historical reconstructions, etc.
