This winter scene was created using Blender, Substance Painter, SpeedTree, and Gaea.
The landscape was created in Blender, and the large chunks of ice were sculpted directly in Blender. The snow covered mountains were created in Gaea. A group of trees was created in SpeedTree, while the second group of trees was created and textured using Blender itself.
The boats, oil lanterns, pier, distanced cabin, and other objects were modeled from scratch in Blender and textured using Substance Painter. Volumetric clouds and the overall atmosphere were also created in Blender, allowing the scene to adapt to different lightings.
There are two sets of lighting in the world shader: one for a dawn setting and another for sunrise, allowing you to switch between the two.
The scene was rendered in Blender using Cycles, with post-processing and color correction mostly done in Blender, followed by a final color correction in Photoshop.
I’ve reduced the number of objects in the viewport to make navigation easier. When you start the render, all detailed assets will load to produce the final image you see in the thumbnail. If you experience any performance issues, try unpacking the resources; this should significantly improve performance.
