This bear is inspired by the Common Brimstone. Common Brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni) is a widespread butterfly in the Czech Republic. Males have bright lemon-yellow wings, females are pale yellow to greenish white, and both sexes show a small reddish-purple spot on the underside. Its range extends from northwest Africa through most of Europe, including southern Scandinavia and Turkey, to Mongolia. In the Czech Republic it occurs almost everywhere, especially in foothills and wooded lowlands, favoring forest-meadow edges. With a lifespan of 10–11 months, it is among the longest-lived European butterflies. Males patrol large areas in search of females. The species has an open population structure and is capable of long-distance migration.
