A still simulation of a burning paper, originally simulated in Houdini. The making of the simulation is quite complex, but export to Blender was still possible using different file formats and making use of attributes to shade the paper and the fire dynamically. The included shaders are quite easy to understand once you mess a little bit with them. You have the 'nramp' attribute acting as a vertex color mask separating burnt and unburnt paper. I extracted the burning edge from it using a color ramp. Changing textures is quite easy. The fire is shaded simularly—using attributes.
Please rate fairly if you wish to see more simulations being brought to you.
