The sun has dipped below the horizon but is illuminating a layer of cirrostratus cloud from beneath painting half the sky with a fiery red glow. The resultant lighting has a strong red bias from the sun-ward direction, bright enough to cast diffuse shadows in confined spaces, fading to a purplish tint from the opposite direction.
